JACK O LANTERN FT. CIDER

ICYMI, Halloween is my favorite holiday, and October is one of my favorite months. I always make it a priority to apple-pick and head to a pumpkin patch this time every year, and it got me thinking about the origin of all that fun stuff. Like, why do we carve pumpkins to begin with? TLDR: it’s an Irish + Scottish tradition that was brought to America in the 19th century, and they actually used to carve vegetables (turnips in particular) in the very beginning. It is a creepy thing–carving faces into veggies, but it’s a form of art, in a way, which I think is kind of cool.

Inspired by all the pumpkin vibez, I put together this little look (before it dropped 30 degrees in NYC). I started with this Ava Top from Abercrombie that I officially now have in three colors. It’s super comfy, perfect for day or night, and goes with literally everything. I paired it with this gingham skirt from Shop Cider that’s actually convertible— it can be worn short like I did here, or opened up into a maxi skirt. Sooo cute. Wrapped the look up with my Jeffrey Campbell Dagget Boots, a leather brown bag I got in Firenze, and brown lens sunnies. Spooky but cuteeee! Kinda like a carved pumpkin!
