Tarot has always interested me — the concept of drawing cards from a deck to predict one’s future. I’ve always been drawn to them for this reason as well as their memorable art and symbols: crowns, swords, the Moon and Sun come to mind. So when I see a piece that reminds me of Tarot and all of its intricacies, I jump for the opportunity to get my hands on it. That’s why this standout Astro Print Handkerchief Top by Danielle Bernstein at Macy’s caught my eye — shop it here for Plus Size, and here for plain colors. The sun Tarot stands for good fortune, happiness and joy, all things we need right about now after the past few months we’ve endured.

I paired it with a BDG Black Denim Skirt from UO (see a similar one here) and I wanted to add a structured bag so I went with the JW Pei Fae Acrylic Chain Top Handle Bag. I wrapped up the whole look with black flatforms, tortoise hoops (to match the bag!) and Sean’s sunnies because I left my beloved Ray Bans back in the cabin during this shoot in Lake George.

As it turns out, my boy William had an affinity with the sun, too. Here’s one of my favorite (pretty selfish) quotes about it.

“Shine out, fair sun, till I have bought a glass, that I may see my shadow as I pass.”

[Richard III I.II]

Cheers, xx
