SEPTEMBER FAVORITES

I might be biased, but September has always been my favorite month — because, yes, as I’m writing this, it’s my 28th birthday! Time is super crazy — honestly — it feels like I was 18 more like 10 decades ago instead of one, but at the same time some moments feel like they were yesterday. I feel super lucky to be doing what I’m doing and living where I’m living at 28, and I can’t wait for years to come. This birthday too, without remiss, has been emotional for me since Lindsey’s passing. Without fail, she visited me in my dreams last night, took me to Disneyworld, and we rode the Snow White ride, just as we did together back in 2016. It was a beautiful start to my twenty-eighth year, and I will never, ever forget it. Without further ado, I’m sharing my favorite purchases this month, most of which were birthday gifts to myself, sorry not sorry!

Two-Piece Rib Knit Long Sleeve Sweater by Shop Cider — When I tell you I fell in love with this two piece sweater set the second I laid eyes on it, it’s real. These sweater sets were always kind of funny to me — mostly if the bodice piece has straps, which I find, kind of weird-looking. I think that’s why I was drawn to this one in particular because I love the corset-looking shape of the bodice piece and sweetheart neckline. The big, pillowy sleeves are so cute too and I can’t wait to wear this on a night out. I like this one so much, I might just * get it in another color * as the Tiktok people say.

Toile de Jouy Mini Skirt by Shop Cider — This mini skirt was another piece I immediately had eyes for. The toile pattern is super in right now and I’m kinda digging it — not to mention, printed on this mini makes it a much edgier coastal grandma look.

Ana Luisa Gold Twist Ring — I’ve written about this before, but I usually don’t splurge on rings. Not for any particular reason, more so because I only have one staple ring of value (the T&Co 1837 ring) and because I want to carefully craft a more elite stack when I’m ready to splurge on more (looking at you, Newtop Jewelry). Lucky for me, 260SampleSale was having an Ana Luisa flash sale this month and I was so happy to snag this classic design. It’s as beautiful as it looks and I can’t wait to add it to my everyday stack.

Amazon Fashion Twisted Hoop Earrings — This birthday I wanted to splurge on some pieces that had a little more sparkle, and this was the first. These affordable hoops are covered in crystals and add a nice little sparkle in the light.

Glitter Rhinestone Purse from Amazon Fashion (aka the Cult Gaia Dupe) — When I was saying that I wanted to incorporate a little more sparkle into my wardrobe, I wasn’t kidding. This purse is a dupe of the Cult Gaia sparkle bag and comes in a few colors. So worth only $30 to get the look.

Crystal Chunky Platforms from Amazon Fashion — Another dupe (cough, similar to the Valentino chunkers), these shoes from Amazon are velvety smooth, sparkly, and actually a lot more comfortable than they look. I’ve never actually ordered shoes from Amazon before (lol, besides maybe Uggs), and I’m pretty impressed with the quality. I definitely won’t be wearing them everyday (lol), but they’re ideal for Saturday nights to come!

Reflecting on my birthday, time, life, all that jazz, here’s one of my favorite tidbits from the Bard about it all:

“Let every man be master of his time.”

He’s right.

Cheers to 28! xx - A. Martine
