JANUARY FAVORITES

I cannot believe January is nearly over. It’s been such a wonderful month — from launching cool stuff at work (new content projects on Popsugar and The Cut), getting my first New York Magazine byline (woo!), and heading up to Massachusetts for a winter weekend, it’s been a blast. I’ve also taken the time to reflect a lot this month (more to come at the bottom of this post), and I’ve learned to celebrate all things, no matter how big or small they are. Here, I’m sharing some of my favorite things this past month in the fashion, beauty, decor and soul! space!

Fashion

Urban Outfitters Velvet Ruched V-Front Flare Pant During my trip up to Northampton, Massachusetts, we had a fun afternoon exploring the town, visiting the Smith College Museum of Art — and shopping! I stopped at Urban Outfitters and found these velvet pants for half off, so I couldn’t resist. They’re super cute to dress up or down, and I can’t wait to wear them in cold months with boots and warm months with strappy sandals!

Nasty Gal Satin Feather Pajama Set Run, don’t walk if you’re looking for a cute feather pajama set! I love that the feathers are detachable for this if you don’t want to sleep with feathers (as an allergy prone gal I get this), and that the set itself is super cozy and comfy. Sometimes satin materials can feel a little itchy or scratchy, but this one is actually pretty nice and smooth to the touch and during your wear. I went with the chocolate brown set because I thought it was super pretty and a little bit different than my usual comfort zone for these types of sets (aka usually BLACK!).

Accessories + home decor + more

Fur Head Wrap — This gorgeous fur headband was gifted to me from none other than Lindsey’s sweet Aunt. It’s super cozy and I’m obsessed with the light brown fur color — it’s literally perfect for wearing with my very neutral/warm colored forward wardrobe. Here’s a similar one if you, too, want to jump on the trend. It feels super 80s to me too which is so fun, I love the retro, chic vibes!

Ultra Mini Platform UggsI know these are pretty much sold out EVERYWHERE, but I linked a StockX link that I hope works well! It definitely was a good call to order these back in October, and even though they took three months to get to me, I’m so happy I waited. I pretty much wear these everyday I WFH, they’re so easy to slip on and are comfy. Also, flare pants are perfect with them and finally my pants DON’T DRAG ON THE GROUND lol!

Glasshouse Fragrances CandlesAnother amazing Christmas gift, these Glasshouse candles are from Amanda. I love the elegant vibes and how good they smell — many of the fragrances are inspired by different travel destinations. Can’t wait to burn these!

The Five Minute Journal Last but not least is this thoughtful Christmas gift I got from Meg. After looking through Lindsey’s Pinterest, she noticed she pinned this book a few times. I also recall Lindsey talking about this journal in the past. Food for the soul, it’s a journal for people who, well, don’t journal, and gives you prompts to fill out everyday. I love that it allows you to record even the small victories and not just the big ones. I’m doing my best to keep up with it, and I hope to continue on for the whole year. It’s a great one, and a great reminder of Lindsey.

A great Shakespeare quote to kick off the year:

“Sweet are the uses of adversity, which, like the toad, ugly and venomous, wears yet a precious jewel in his head; and this our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.”
