MAY FAVORITES

May was a great month — filled with lots of events, dinners and finally some sunny days. This month, I also got to see Sweeney Todd on Broadway — which I was super pumped about because it’s one of my all time favorite shows. Between the macabre theme (lol you know I love some horror), the music, set and comedic timing, it was a 10/10 performance and would highly recommend a visit if you’re considering it. It’s a long one, too, (2 hours, 40 min!) but TBH, I’d go again, it was such a nice little MDW treat. Here, I’m sharing some recent faves that I’m relying on to get me summer-ready!

fashion

Amazon Fashion Y2K Fairy DressGotta say, I’ve seen these slinky dresses with rosette details ALL over my IG, so I recently added this one to cart. It’s what you’d imagine a $14 dress feels like, but I’m pretty impressed on how well it molds to your body shape and how comfortable it is. The only thing I’d say about this one is that it is completely see-through, so plan ahead and make sure you get a slip for it if you please. Or, just rock it over some black undergarments, cause honestly, that would look pretty killer too.

Princess Polly Brown Check Vest I think this one * just * pulled off of Princess Polly’s site, but luckily I found a Poshmark link and added it here. I’m NOT a sweater-vest girlie, but I loved this check pattern and thought it would be a cute office staple over the summer, either by itself or layered over a white, puffy sleeve top. I think it’s super eye catching and just looks amaze paired with anything, from denim to a black leather skirt or even a white tennis skirt.

Jeffrey Campbell PERIWINKLE Denim Sandal Ok so last year I picked up these fun, neon orange shoes for summer and they were really a hit on my IG and paired well with some fun outfits. This year, I wanted to pick up another fun shoe of sorts, and immediately fell in love with these. I can’t wait to rock them with summer dresses, or even some denim on denim looks. They’re totally fitting the rosette summer trend of 2023 so far, and are just soooooo cute.

home decor

Macrame PlacematsA goal of mine this summer is to host more people at the apartment, and we needed some ‘fancier’ placemats that I’d use for these types of occasions. These really pretty macrame ones caught my eye, and I think they’d look stunning with some colored glasses and black dishware/flatware. Compared to similar mats at higher-end decor shops, these were a steal, too.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but let summer begin!

"Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast."
