PEACHY FT. STORETS

In college, I took a literary theory class that introduced the idea of certain expressions meaning a plethora of things. For example, “cool cat,” could mean, well, a literal, cat that’s chilly, or a cat with sunglasses on. It could also mean a cool dude, or maybe a dude with sunglasses on. “Just peachy” is another one of those amazing expressions, if something is ‘just peachy,’ it could definitely be peach-colored, or it can be a sarcastic quip that answers the query, how are you? I’m just peachy. While this is a true theory for these funny idioms and expressions, I’d also argue that it’s a true theory for fashion, too. Putting different textures and colors together can help you tell a plethora of stories. E.g, My look here could be a perfect St. Paddy’s Day outfit because of the orange and Irish sweater, or it could be just a casual outfit that reflects the bright, sunny Saturday I wore it on. Two meanings, one look.

I started this look with a staple: these Abercrombie High Rise 90s Relaxed Jeans that simply, I cannot stop wearing. I paired it with a white cotton top, similar to this Abercrombie bodysuit here, and an Irish Sweater that was a gift to me from my parents (similar here from Amazon!) The jacket is the star of this look — and I’ll be honest, it’s no longer available (think I got it circa 2018 from Storets)! The good news is Storets has a lot of similarly cut jackets, like this Ava Pleather Jacket. I wrapped it all up with my Prada Tessuto, and Adidas Superstars.

So was the meaning of my outfit actually celebratory of my Irish heritage? Or is it just a sunny, Spring look? I’ll let you decide! And now for a double-meaning Shakespeare quote, from Mercutio before his demise: (he could’ve meant a serious man, or man in a grave, which is what he ended up being! Too good, lol).

"Ask for me tomorrow, and you shall find me a grave man."
