FEBRUARY FAVORITES

While I can’t say that February is generally a favorite month, we did get up to some fun things. First, we got back from Mexico City after a five-day trip, and let me tell you, I can’t wait to get back there! It was absolutely a blast, and everywhere there is honestly so aesthetic. Some standouts I loved: the Zócalo with all the historic buildings and Templo Mayor. The food, from Magazzino to Pujol, and more. The art, Frida Kahlo Museum, the Castillo de Chapultepec, it was all amazing. Not to mention, the shopping! See here for a full rundown of everywhere we ate, drank, and what we did. I highly, highly recommend. We also took a little trip upstate two weekends back to ski over Valentine’s Day, and I’m proud to say I survived a few greens. Without further ado, here’s a look at everything I’ve been loving this month!

Nasty Gal Cowprint Pants — I’m not sure why, exactly, I found myself googling cowhide pants a few weeks ago, but I’m sure happy I did. I stumbled upon this under $140 pair from Nasty Gal, and I’m obsessed. While the material is a little stiff, it will definitely loosen up a bit over time, and I can’t wait to style this with sweaters and blouses as we head into Spring.

Goodbye Folk Vintage Velvet Jacket — I have some fun vintage pieces in this haul for the month because I did some great thrifting both in CDMX and in the Catskills! This piece was a find I picked up at the former, at a neat little store called Goodbye Folk. This jacket has a fun scalloped neckline, a cropped bottom, and puffed shoulders. I can’t wait to style into spring—I’m not really a blazer girlie, but this comes close! Here’s a similar find.

ACCESSORIES

Fur Scrunchies from RPZL — Um, I got these in a recent shipment from my friends over at RPZL, and I’ll just say I haven’t been able to stop wearing them since they landed in my closet. I’ve been rocking a lot of pony tails, half up half down styles, and more with these fun little scrunchies. The Brownstone hue is def my faveeee!

Brown Sequin Bag from CDMXAnother thrift find from CDMX, I picked this up at one of the Grand Bazaars in Roma Norte. It’s one of a kind, and although a little beat up on the right upper corner, I don’t mind at all. It’s super roomy even though it’s on the smaller side, I love the crescent shape, and it will be such a fun addition to my summer closet! Here’s a similar find from Etsy.

Glass Princess Vintage Jewelry Box — The thrift finds simply don’t stop this month! I got this gem up at Tannersville Antiques in the Catskills. When I first saw it, there was only one person who came to mind. Lindsey. She would have bought this, plus ten other similar-looking ones, in a heartbeat. It sounds weird to say, but I felt her presence when picking this up, heard her in my head saying, “Alanna, you’re not leaving the store without this because it reminds you of me.” I fell in love with thrifting thanks to Lindsey, so finding these pieces always feels like a little gift from her, a little wave and hello, and a nudge saying, I’m with you. Anyway, I now hold my daily jewelry in it, I think she would too 🦋. Here’s a similar piece from Etsy.
