Passing the time is an parallel universe these days. And while I’m so craving to get back to normal, I’m trying to use this time to work on my creativity, my Instagram, my brand and of course, myself! To pay homage to parallelism, I created this mod look for the blog this month inspired by none other than Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. I’ve surely written about this story before on this blog, but it feels relevant now more than ever… between the shift in society under social distancing policies (the alternative universe), to said society doing whatever they can to distract themselves (Alice’s experiences, or delusions, in Wonderland) to perhaps the most key notion in both our world and Wonderland: the fact that these environments make us reflect on ourselves. Sure, a lot will change in our world. But more might change within us.

I started this look with a pretty floral milkmaid style top from Missguided, which for some reason has disappeared from the internet, but I’m linking a similar, solid color one here. This white and blue floral design is pretty unique for me and nothing like anything I own, so I’m happy I got my hands on it. Next, I paired the top with some dark jeans and my Filas (I feel like they’re such a spring shoe), and topped it off with this really cool Storets Hazel Bomber Jacket. This one is also unavailable at this time, but here’s a similar one. Finally, I added a little black ribbon in my hair (a nod to Alice) to complete the look.

I leave you with a little worldly inspo from Shakes:

“O, wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is!

O brave new world, That has such people in't!”
