NOVEMBER FAVORITES

It’s officially the close of November which means temps have dropped in NYC and you can’t go into a CVS without hearing Christmas music (ah). I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks catching up with friends, eating a lot of pizza (hi Lil Frankies) and enjoying the golden sunsets (seriously the best time of year for sunsets even if its below 40). This month I also added a tiny Christmas tree to my apartment (yay), and a few new touches of decor which I’ll share with you later in this post. Here’s some of my favorite purchases/things of the month!

fashion + accessories

Black Abstract Print Mesh Bodysuit from Missguided — Collared shirts were something I thought I’d left behind at my Catholic all girls high school, but the trend is clearly back in full force this fall/winter season and I can’t say I’m that mad about it. This cute mesh bodysuit is a little more fun, not so prim and preppy and pairs well with dark jeans or a mini skirt with ease.

Elaluz Limited Edition Necklace (gifted*)A chunky necklace over a turtleneck is an easy way to elevate your whole look and this mix and matched gold and silver chain link has been my go-to. Mixed metals for the win.

Steve Madden Slade Cognac Patent Whew, I LOVE these! Not only are they a lot more comfortable than they look (I promise!), they pair well with skirts, oversized jeans or flare pants. I’m also pretty obsessed with this cognac brown color that adds a warm touch to any outfit.

home decor

David Bust Hi hello my name is Alanna and I’ve always been so obsessed with Renaissance art. Literally if I had the choice to design my abode like the Uffizi I’d pretty much do it in a heartbeat. Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of bust art on home decor Instagrams I follow. Instead of buying a new one, I went home to go through leftover pieces of art and decor from my grandparent’s old house. I found this bust of David that once sat in their living room and it’s totally priceless because it reminds me of my late grandfather and adds a trendy touch to my sidetable. Just a good example of trends coming back in style, and to remember to look through your family heirlooms before spending money on something ‘vintage.’ David’s my new favorite piece.

And to wrap up this month’s favorites, a quote seemingly apropros:

“O Hero, what a Hero hadst thou been.”
