SHE'S NOT THERE FEAT. GEN Z DENIM

Listening to 60s music has me feelin’ some type of way lately — and one of my all time faves will always be She’s Not There by the Zombies. It kind of reminds me of a Shakespeare sonnet (which is why I think I like it so much) and I think it really captures a mix of sentiments from uncertainty and love to heartbreak. This had me wanting to celebrate some retro style mixed with some modern choices, and I think I was able to nail it with these couple of pieces!

First, I wanted to pick a top that I felt would’ve been cool in 1965 but is still cool now. This was easy with this Abercrombie & Fitch Mockneck Sweater. The diamond pattern feels super vintage and I love the billowing sleeves. Next, I wanted to complement the sweater with something a little more modern with these BDG High-Waisted Baggy Jeans from UOdo I look like a Gen Zer yet? Seriously though, I kind of love that the younger generations are embracing the baggier jean look and I never thought I’d like it but I really do! Since it’s still pretty chilly in NYC, I paired these patterned lace tights from Amazon Fashion underneath. Finally, I added this sweet quilted bomber jacket from Missguided which gave me a little more retro vibes, and paired it all with my AF1s to bring it into 2021. Last, I added the Gabbi Bag from JW Pei, and these cute retro glasses from Amazon Fashion to tie it all together.

Leaving you with a note from a different kind of sonnet on love:

“O no! it is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wand'ring bark,

Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.”

[Sonnet 116]
