FOTOAUTOMATICA FT. AMAZON FASHION
One of the coolest places we visited in Firenze was this mini photo booth by Piazza Santo Spirito. While the booth itself was out of order (lol), I couldn’t help but snap a photo outside of it— I’m simply obsessed with the vintage art-deco vibe and baby cherub who sits overtop. It was a nice juxtaposition from the art we’ve seen during the rest of the trip (which was also chock full of baby cherubs but in a much more ancient way), and it had me thinking about the history of the photobooth itself. Long story short, the photobooth was brought to the US by a Russian inventor. The concept of taking a photo was fascinating at the time and made for a pretty good business idea; after all, cameras were certainly not as common or readily available in our pockets as they are today. The first photobooth in NYC debuted in September 1926, and here we are almost 100 years later, still taking photos in them, which is pretty cool.
This look was a nice blend of new + old (much like this photobooth). This polka-dot top from Amazon Fashion has more of an old-school silhouette mixed with the mod print. I loved pairing it with this mini brown ruffle skirt to edge up the look a bit and make it feel a little Fall (even though it was a nice 86 degrees in Firenze). Finally, I wrapped the look up with these strappy black platform sandals and Gucci pochette.
